We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the Electrical Engineering function within an established engineering business.
This is a senior technical and leadership position, combining hands-on electrical engineering with team management, technical authority and project delivery.
You will work across major projects within the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy and chemical sectors, with involvement from concept and FEED through to detailed design and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering team
- Act as the technical authority for electrical engineering matters
- Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
- Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations and HSEQ requirements
- Review vendor and multidisciplinary engineering documentation
- Manage departmental workload, resources and technical quality
- Support projects through concept, FEED, detailed design and close-out
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and other engineering disciplines
- Coach and mentor engineers
- Develop engineering standards, processes and best practice
- Attend client sites and support commissioning when required
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Senior/Lead Electrical Engineering experience within a consultancy, design house or EPC/EPCM environment
- Experience across oil & gas, petrochemical, energy or chemical projects
- Strong project experience from Concept/FEED through Detailed Design
- Excellent LV and HV knowledge up to 11kV
- 33kV experience advantageous
- Knowledge of ATEX, offshore regulations, Safety Cases, cabling and electrical equipment
- Strong protection and settings knowledge
- Experience with electrical design calculations and modelling
- Strong knowledge of British, European and international electrical standards
- Trimble/Amtech experience advantageous
- Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage multiple projects
A strong opportunity for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer looking to take ownership of a technical function while remaining closely involved in major engineering projects.
