Privacy policy

What BoQQs collects when you browse listings, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR.

Last updated 31 Jul 2026

boqqs.com is a job listing site. We publish roles, internships, apprenticeships, and graduate schemes across UK construction and healthcare, and we link you to the employer's own application page. We do not collect CVs and we do not process applications.

This policy explains what personal data we handle, on what legal basis, and how you can exercise your rights. It is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME], registered in England and Wales, company number [COMPANY NUMBER], registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@boqqs.com.

What we collect

Because we do not run accounts or take applications, the amount of data we hold is deliberately small:

  • Search and filter terms you enter, so we can return results and understand which searches return nothing useful.
  • Standard server log data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — retained for security and troubleshooting.
  • Saved listings, which are stored in your own browser's local storage and never transmitted to us.
  • Anything you choose to send us by email, for as long as needed to answer you.

We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, date of birth, or right-to-work documents. If an employer's site asks for those after you click through, that collection is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Why we can use it

We rely on legitimate interests to operate, secure, and improve the site — running a job board that returns relevant results, and keeping it free from abuse. We rely on consent for any non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the suppliers that keep the site running — hosting, error monitoring, and analytics — each acting on our instructions under a written contract.

When you click Apply, you leave BoQQs and land on the employer's or job board's own site. What happens there is outside our control and covered by their policies.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept for 12 months. Email correspondence is kept for 24 months from the last message. Anything saved in your browser stays until you clear it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. You can also ask us to transfer it to another provider.

Email hello@boqqs.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 30 days.
