Pay and salaries

How does BoQQs calculate its salary figures?

Salary guides are averaged from the advertised pay on live BoQQs listings, not from surveys or self-reported earnings. Day rates and hourly rates are annualised at 260 working days or 1,950 hours so they can be compared. Every salary page states the number of listings its figure rests on.

This matters when reading the number. An advertised range is what employers are offering to attract candidates, which is not the same as what people currently in the role earn. Advertised pay tends to run slightly ahead of the market.

Where a guide is based on a small number of listings, treat it as indicative. The sample size is printed on the page precisely so you can judge that for yourself.
